Reflexctive practice is an important part of personal development in any career. than chance to step back and look at your progress, where you are going , how you are doing and what you want to achieve.

 

This unit is a stand alone CPD award or a compulsory part of Body massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Diplomas

 

 

How long is the course?

What are the entry requirements?

Qualified in Body massage, Reflexology or Aromatherapy and  a sound understanding of written and spoken English. You will also be required to have a short interview either in person or over the telephone.  

This course contains a certain amount of wriiten work and maths.

If you are worried about your litracy and language skills , we cna arrange a on line test from your home to assess your level. If we both feel that it is not of the acceptable level we cna than advice you of how to improve in this area to ba able to complete/attend the course. 

 


 

 

How is the course taught?
The course is taught through a series of  tutorials and course pack..

  • Discussing the basic elements fo 'Reflective practice'  ( how to  relect on own attitudes, beliefs,interests,priorities and values in relation to personal growth as a therapist).
  • Recording knowledge and  practical experience as a log book/diary how to use it.
  • Identifying strengths and removing limitations .
  • Identifying life long learning opportunities and plan for self development.

 


What equipment is required for the course?
Students are not required to wear college uniform for this course. Students will need to have access to a computer for typing assignments and will need an internet connection with their own email address to enable the distribution of course notes and, importantly, for the submission of assignments. Students will also need pens, notepaper , ring folder and coloured pencils unless they are working directly onto a laptop. Additionally, students will be also be given the option to purchase  recommended course books.

 

 

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed by:

  • worksheet- with profile of you and your training, your CV etc
  • This is assessed by a log book kept throughout your course or for a  period of 3 months after attending course pr after registration.
  • A reflective practice summary after this period or at end of course.
  • two case studies of a client and their progress.


Is there any home study?

Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to do practical and theoretical home study between college sessions. How many hours you set aside each week will be up to you and how quickly you wish to become qualified. 

 


What qualifications will I gain?
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded the unit in Reflective practice of chosen subject(  or will be part of your full diploma in Body, Reflex or Aroma and the Health Academics in  Reflective practice(body, Reflex or Aroma) award.

 


How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course

£50 which  handouts, teaching,assessing and verifying assignments and final practical assessment

£35 for the VTCT registration fee (plus a one off life time registration fee of £16 if you have not taken a VTCT course before)If part of Full body, Reflex or  Aroma course there is no assessment book charge.

 


This unit is required for the Body massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Diplomas.


Please also note that once you have completed

  • The business practice for complementary therapies in any one course this will not have to be covered again.
