We can all study to be therapists but can we make a living from it?
This unit will help you to understand the key business criteria required for complementary therapy and enable you to plan, prepare, promote and maintain a business. Whether you are a mobile therapist or intend to open a treatment clinic or salon in the future.

The course is 1/2 day 2pm till 6pm on a Monday

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements apart from a sound understanding of written and spoken English. You will also be required to have a short interview either in person or over the telephone.
This course contains a certain amount of wriiten work and maths.
If you are worried about your litracy and language skills , we cna arrange a on line test from your home to assess your level. If we both feel that it is not of the acceptable level we cna than advice you of how to improve in this area to ba able to complete/attend the course.
How is the course taught?
The
course is taught through a series of lectures and tutorials, utilising
visual learning aids, an interactive smart board and an internet link.

What equipment is required for the course?
Students are not required to wear college uniform for this course. Students will need to have access to a
computer for typing assignments and will need an internet connection
with their own email address to enable the distribution of course notes
and, importantly, for the submission of assignments. Students will also
need pens, notepaper , ring folder and coloured pencils unless they are working
directly onto a laptop. Additionally, students will be also be given the option to
purchase recommended course books.
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed by:
Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to do practical and theoretical home study between college sessions. How many hours you set aside each week will be up to you and how quickly you wish to become qualified.
What qualifications will I gain?
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded the Level 3 VTCTAward in Business Practice for Complementary therapy or will be part of your full diploma in Body, Reflex or Aroma and the Health Academics in Business practice for Complementary therapy award.
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course
£50 which handouts, teaching,assessing and verifying assignments and final practical assessment
£20 for the VTCT registration fee (plus a one off life time registration fee of £16 if you have not taken a VTCT course before)If part of Full body, Reflex or Aroma course there is no assessment book charge.
OR
take the principals and practices of complementary Therapies unit in morning £95 for the two units.
This unit is required for the Body massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy Diplomas.
