Reflexology is a form of treatment based on the belief that the body is dependent upon energy flows which can be improved through specific massage of the feet,hands and ears. At this level the treatment is primarily used for the stimulation of the systems of the body and relaxation. In addition, the technique is frequently provided by health Service personnel as an extra skill and particularly in its role of comforting and supporting terminally ill patients
Critical aspects of the qualification are to ensure that the treatments provided are safe and effective. The qualification is suitable for those currently employed in beauty therapy, holistic and health related sectors and others wishing to acquire the particular skills involved.
How long is the course?
Six days from 9.30 till 5pm. Two days a month for 3 months.
How is the course taught?
The maximum number of students per course is ten.
The course is taught through a series of lectures and tutorials,
utilising visual learning aids and an interactive smart board. Students
will also practise treatments upon one another during the practical
sessions.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
There are no entry requirements apart from a sound understanding of
written and spoken English. You will also be required to have a short
interview either in person or over the telephone.

Course content
Students will be required to wear the college uniform of a plain black short sleeved t-shirt
(no logos) or black tunic top, black trousers and flat black clean shoes (no
open toes). Please note this must be bought as a uniform and not be every day clothes. Students will need to have access to a computer for typing
assignments and will need an internet connection with their own email address to
enable the distribution of course notes and, importantly, for the submission of
assignments. Additionally, students will be required to purchase recommended course
books.

On completing all assignments and case studies these must be either printed up with the feedback forms and put into folder or saved on memory stick, Cd or card and brought to the centre on your final assessment session.

Yes, you will have to practise and work on assignments
What qualifications will I gain?
Upon
successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded the VTCT Diploma in Refloxology and the Health Academics Reflexology Diploma.
How much does the course cost?
The
cost of the course including handouts and student workbook is £460 and VTCT assessment book £31 and one off VTCT registration fee of £16. If H&S, A&P and Reflexology booked together there is a discount of 10% a saving of £70.
The course can be paid in two instalments, please discuss this option with centre.
Course Dates For 2010
NEW diploma starts on Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th September 2010- contact centre to discuss as slightly different format and extra day. this course will cost slightly more.
We have arrange for students to achieve our diploma after a certain amount of Case studies. This means that they will be able to be covered by insurance of a certain company and work towards achieving the 100 treatments that Reflexology will be requiring. Gaining valuable experience and industry knowledge whilst recording all treatments in a log book. Once all treaments are achieved we can then claim for the VTCT Diploma.
