Indian Head Massage is massage applied to the head,shoulder,back,neck and arm areas. The methods are designed to promote relaxation, to relieve stress related muscle tension and to improve blood flow in these areas. The techniques are ones that have been used for a thousand years on the Indian Sub- continent and the qualification has rationalised the methodology where there are stressful situations or physical problems arising from continuous use of computers. It is a highly versatile treatment and can be applied through clothing or using oils and can be adapted to the home,workplace and salons. Also a highly mobile therapy.please note as tutor has travelled in India, many traditional Indian Head Massage moves will also be included in the course.

The course is held over three days from 9.30 till 5pm

Course Content
How is the course taught?
The course is taught through a series
of lectures and tutorials, utilising visual learning aids, an interactive smart
board and an internet link. Students will also practise treatments upon one another during the
practical sessions. All practical sessions are taught using organic products sourced from a local perfumer www.arcania-apothecary.co.uk.
What are the entry requirements for this
course?
Although a anatomy and physiology certificate is advisable is is not
mandatory as we cover the related Anatomy & physiology in the
course. Like wise it may help if you have a massage qualification but
again this is not mandatory. However if you would like to do the
A&P course before starting please see study options. For more

You will be required to cover the units VRO2 and VR74(D1120) support
health,safety and security in the workplace and support employment
standards if you have not completed this within the last 3 years with
VTCT. This can be covered as homestudy or a one day course with us.
What equipment is required for the
course?
Students will be required to wear the college uniform of a
plain black t-shirt (no logos) or black tunic top, black trousers and flat black
clean shoes (no open toes). Please note this must not be every day clothes, clothes must have been bought for uniform only. Students will need to have access to a computer
for typing assignments and will need an internet connection with their own email
address to enable the distribution of course notes and, importantly, for the
submission of assignments. Additionally, students will be not be required to purchase any books, however we can recommend one for optional purchase if required.
How is the course assessed?
The course
is assessed by:
when all assignments and case studies are completted you will have to either print up these and the feedback forms or save to memory stick, CD or card and bring to centre on your final practical assessment.
Is there any home study?
Independent
study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to do
practical and theoretical home study between college sessions.
What qualifications will I gain?
Upon
successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded the VTCT Diploma in Indian Head Massage and the Health Academics Indian Head Massage Diploma.
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course including handouts and student workbook is £270 with an VTCT assessment book £31 If
new to VTCT you will have a once in a lifetime registration fee of £16.
