  VTCT DIPLOMA IN HEALTH, SAFETY, SECURITY AND EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

 

Successful completion of this qualification enables the candidate to support health, safety and security in the workplace with regard to ensuring the safety of customers, themselves and colleagues. This is achieved by addressing the more obvious health and safety issues and also through the use of risk assessment to identify potential hazards. It also enables candidates to ensure that attention is given to employment standards involving professionalism, equality of treatment for all customers, community involvment, hygienic practices, cost-effectiveness, protection from physical and mental abuse, and ways in which the image of the workplace can be enhanced.

 

VTCT requires that these units be covered either before commencemet of, or in parallel with, any VTCT course. However, it is best practice to complete these units prior to the commencement of a course. This can be undertaken either as a home study or one day centre-based course. If this diploma has been successfully completed within the last 3 years it is not necessary to retake it before embarking upon a course and students will receive APL.

As a home study course you arrange when you wish to start and at the pace you want to study. 

 

How is the course assessed?

Home study

2 assignments

1 short  20 question multiple choice test paper taken at the centre. However, this can be taken during attendance for another course.Please note this is a compulsory requirement of VTCT.

 

What qualification will i gain?

Upon successful completion of course you will recieve the VTCT Diploma in Health, Safety and hygiene for Complmentary therapies

 

How much does the course cost?

£70 plus £18 VTCT assessment book and a one off payment of £16 for life registration to VTCT- However if you are thinking of doing a full practical course at Health academics it will be better to purchase the assessment book for the unit.
