VTCT Certificate in Wax Depilation

Depiliation is the temporary removal of superfluous hair prfessionally by the use of different types of wax.

A critical aspect of the qualfication is to ensure the health and safety of the client and to understand the contra- indications of treatment.

 

How long is the course?

The course runs over two days from 9.30 till 5pm

There will also be a practical assessment after you have completed your ranges at home.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements apart from a sound understanding of written and spoken English. You will also be required to have a short interview either in person or over the telephone. However you will be required to cover the mandatory  VTCT Diploma in Health and Safety D1120 or to have taken  this course in the last 3 years.This course can be under taken either before or along side the waxing as a home study course. How is the course taught?

 This course is taught through lectures and practical sessions, utilising learning aids, an interactive smart board and an internet link. Students will also practice treatments upon one another during the practical sessions. There will also be one practical session on a member of the public on the second day.

 

What equipment is required for the course?

Students will be required to wear the college uniform of a plain black short sleeved t-shirt( no logos) or black tunic top, black trousers and flat black clean shoes ( no open toes). Please note:These must be brought for the course and not every day clothing. Students will need to have access to a computor for typing assignments and will need an internet connection with their own email address to enable the submission of assignments or course work. Students will also need pens, ring folder, notepaper and coloured pens unless they are working directly onto laptop. additionally , students will be required to purchase a waxing kit from either the centre or from somewhere else. This is requried for ranges that will have to be covered as your home study.

 

How is the course assessed?

  • warm wax -  minimum 1 leg, underarm, bikini, eyebrows
  • Hot wax- minimum under arm, bikini and one area of face 
  • one related assignment
  • one practical assessment- 1/2 leg wax, under arm and Bikini

Is there any home study?

Independent study is required for the assignment and practical work to cover the ranges required by the course.

 

What qualifications will i gain?

 Upon successful completion of the course candidates willb e awarded the VTCT Level 2 certificate in waxing  Depilation and the Health Academics Certificate in waxing.

 

How much doe the course cost?

 We have a 'new' course introductory offer of £175, normal price will be £200  with an additionalassessment fee.

 

VTCT assessment book £25 and one in a life VTCT registration fee of £16 if not already a member.
