This teaching certificate in Baby Massage was developed at the request of Health Professionals to cover the procedures and techniques involved in undertaking baby massage. The person trained will be able to conduct classes for mothers to use massage techniques to reinforce bonding, improve joint movement and soothe fractious babies.
How long is the course?
The course is held over mid week days with an assesssment date set two weeks later.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
this qualification is suitable for those employed as health professional or massage therapist, specifically those concerned with baby care. Candidates for this qualfication should have an understanding of massage and anatomy & Physiology.
You will be reuired to cover the units VR02 and VR74 (D1120) Support Health, Safety and Security in the work place and support Employment Standards if you have not completed this within the last 3 years with VTCT. This is a compulsory part of any VTCT course. This can be covered as home study or a one day course with us.
Course content
For massage therapists who have not worked with children/babies but are moving into this area there will be a pre course assignment on infant anatomy & Physiology and development
What equipment is required for the course?
Students will be required to wear the college uniform of plain black t-shirt(no logos) or black tunic top, black trouseres and flat balck clean shoes(no open toes)OR Health professionals may wear their usual uniform. You cannot wear every day clothing.
You will also be required to purchase a doll or baby mannequin for training- however this will be useful for training groups/individuals in the future. See soft body doll with FHT

What qualifcation will i gain?
upon successful completion of the course candiates will be awarded the VTCT CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING BABY MASSAGE and the HEALTH ACADEMICS Certificate in Teaching Baby Massage.

The cost of the course including handouts and student work book is £310, plus VTCT assessment book of £18 and a Life time VTCT candidate registration fee of £16
