The qualification is suitable as a gateway for non-medical physical therapies and is a reinforcement to learning and confidence building for those taking skills qualifications, for returners to therapies and for those progressing to further qualifications.
A critical aspect of this qualification is that the units may be accessed independently to fulfil specific needs. for this reason, they have a common section dealing with the cell, as a fundamental building block.
How long is this course?
This is a Home study course therefore the length of how long it takes is up to you. However it is advisable that you should take no longer than 6 months. This is for the self motivated! You will be supplied with course book, worksheets,useful A&P referencing websites and assignments. We also recommend two anatomy and Physiology Books that canhelp with your studies. However you will be required to attend the centre for a final Anatomy and physiology written paper.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
No previous knowledge is required. However a good command of verbal and written English is an advantage.However if you are worried about your literacy and language skills we can provide an on line test for you to try in these areas. results are instant. if your perfomance is not as required we can discuss ways of increasing your levels of competance in this area so that you will be able to complete this course. Please discuss with centre if you have any concerns
How is the course taught?
All home study plus phone calls and emails to check on progress and help with any queries.
There is an optional field trip to the COLLEGE OF BODY SCIENCE in London. All students on course will be informed of dates throughout the year.
Course content
Please note there are 12 assignments covering one system each plus 1 lesser common pathology assignment. You will then have a single 30 question multiple choice test paper set by VTCT(no pathology is in this test). THIS PAPER MUST BE TAKEN AT THE CENTRE.

These are taken at Health academics either when you are attending another course or a trip to centre. There is no seperate charge for this test.
What equipment is required for the course?
Students will need pens, pencils, coloured pencils, notepad and
plastic wallets or files to hold course materials and their work.
Additionally, there are two anatomy and physiology course books that we also recommend.
Assignments and feedback forms can be either printed up and put into folder sections or saved on a memory stick,card or CD. This must be brought to centre when taking final test paper.
It is a good idea that you have a pc, laptop or access to one of these as assignments will need to be typed up. We also need the facility to email you assignments and work can be emailed to us for marking.
What qualifications will I gain?
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the VTCT Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology and the Health Academics Anatomy & Physiology Diploma
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the home study course is £215 plus £67 for VTCT assessment book and a one off life time registration fee to VTCT of £16. This includes all coursework.

This course can be started at any time. Assignments are sent out with pack and emailed to you as well.
You will be required to attend the centre for compulsory test paper. But this can fit around any course that you are attending or a time to suit you by arrangement.
